Cameroonians Decry Two Months of Continuous Power Outage

Businesses that depend on electricity for operation around Chief Street Bomaka in Buea have gone mute for over 2 months.

An owner of a grinding mill says he is tired of the permanent electricity outage. Though he has a generator, he is tired of buying fuel and the constant breakdown of the generator.

He is not alone, others having shops, those writing exams and hairdressers etc, have vented their frustration on the electricity supply company ENEO for not always supplying them with electricity.
There was a march yesterday, June 7 2021 by inhabitants of Chief Street Bomaka to the DO's office to plead for the return of electricity.
"We do not have water at home because our boreholes cannot flow due to no electricity. We can't wash and iron our dresses. I go to work at times like a peasant because my clothes have not seen an electric iron for over 2months," an inhabitant told CNA.
The hope is for the DO to intervene in their problem and prompt ENEO to solve their problem. A day after, nothing has happened yet.
